This was a guest post for CORE education, which originally appeared as: Making the change we know in our hearts is essential…by building a coaching culture.
A blog covering all aspects of ICT Enhanced Learning and Teaching (ICTELT) where the focus lies on ways of scaffolding and empowering learners. I am a strong advocate of the potential of Web 2.0 and social learning to empower learners from all walks of life and cultures.
Coaching and mentoring individuals and teams in a variety of organisations, Hazel always stresses that it takes both leadership and team growth for organisations to realise their vision. Having worked in a variety of areas (including telecommunications, IT, retail, rural, recruitment, insurance, government sector, education, and not-forprofit organisations), she is also owner and director of her own successful business.
In her various roles, Hazel has informed whole organisation change, implementation of innovative change, staff development, and the development of organisation wide coaching initiatives. One of the fundamental things she stresses is that learning happens any-time, any-place...the key is the openness of each person to whatever is there to be learned. Her coaching expertise lies in leadership, team performance, career progression, and supporting other coaches to develop.
Hazel has been recognised for her work in New Zealand and the Middle East and is a recipient of several awards and nominations for programme design, research, and education practice.
